World Bank Wants Your Voice: What would you fund to fight poverty?
The World Bank is calling for all voices with a video challenge. This according to a posting on their web site:
World leaders will be gathering next month to discuss the replenishment of the International Development Association (IDA) fund, the World Bank’s fund for the poorest countries that helps fight poverty in Africa. We want you to join this conversation by submitting your video today! In a 2-minute video, answer the following question: If you were asked to advise the Bank on what to fund in your village, your town, your province, your state or your country to reduce poverty, what would you recommend and why?
Videos must be submitted by Friday, September 24, 2010 (11:59pm EST).

I think this is a great strategy by the World Bank in crowd-sourcing ideas from people on the ground. I will be checking in with my favorite, newly-elected Local Councilwoman, Milly Businge to see what she thinks the World Bank should fund in order for her village (located just outside Masindi, Uganda) to effectively fight rural poverty.
What ideas do you think can help your community fight poverty?
